With a feeling of renaissance realism the feature wall portrays old-world mystical mountains, approached by a serene, winding path that warmly invites those who climb this curving staircase. In the foreground is a carefully painted balcony, with two of the patrons daughters playfully communicating via tropical birds, with their sister on an adjacent wall. In the detail photo, the trompe l’oeil touchier is actually a sconce light (mounted against the wall) and the post is painted illusion. Behind the frosted glass black and amber coals are painted to reflect through the bottom of the bowl.
