I wanted to spend some one-on-one time with my daughter, so we went for a walk on the beach one afternoon. We wondered out onto the rocks in a place named “Jelly Bowl”. For a long time we both watched the waves crashing against the rocks below our feet. “Come on, Daddy”, she finally said. I felt a tug on my hand. Her soft little fingers slipped away and I watched her balancing her way back to shore. Then she stopped and watching the swirling sea foam, she gazed for a moment. The surface sparkled and churned as the sands below churned and tumbled. I thought about how the Creator of such entrancing beauty archives special moments in my daughter’s young mind. “I like the foam, Daddy!” she said. “I like it too!” I said. Then I helped her across the little natural stone bridge. I found myself eager to create a painting that fleeting moment.
