We found ourselves mesmerized by the abstract shapes of color undulating across the surface of the docile ocean.

After a long and winding drive down the Big Sur Coast, my husband and I stopped along the road in San Simeon, California to enjoy the dusky hues of the setting sun. We found ourselves mesmerized by the abstract shapes of color undulating across the surface of the docile ocean. I particularly enjoyed the beauty of the distant mountains in this early evening light. The final rays of the setting sun changed the whole terrain. Warmer colors now dominated with a soothing glow. Shadows on the beach gradually grew darker allowing the more subtle hues of the sun’s afterglow to enjoy our attention.
