A wave reaches up and captures the late sun!

Standing on the rocks just before dusk, I was privately enjoying the ocean. The breeze was pushing against me causing a chill. The way the light danced on the peaks of the waves in contrast to the deep shadows in the shallows was entrancing. I was especially enjoying the way the water swelled and receded in and out from under the small natural arch formed in the rocks. Just when I turned to go this wave struck the jagged barnacle covered rocks. An explosion of water and mist thrust into the air, just high enough for the dusky rays to pierce them. The separating droplets glistened as they reluctantly let go of the light they had so vigorously seized just a moment earlier.—Paul Leasure
