I was standing on the cliffs watching the ocean wash the reef. Bathing the orange rocks with foam, the sea soothed my soul. Pointed groups of barnacles stood their ground not giving way to the ocean’s forceful cleansing. Glimmers of light radiated from all over as the late sun illuminated the freshly washed ancient stratum. Natural tar deposits, emitted from the seabed nearby, fill the rock’s cleavage and cracks, accenting the grooves and crevasse, creating a dramatic contrast to the sea foam. The light mesmerized me as it penetrated the seaweed swaying back and forth with the rhythm of the tide.
