Tropical sun and trade winds are nature’s clothes dryer for people on the island. Palm fronds rustle above as breezes stir curtains in open windows. Beyond the lagoon the surf breaks on the reef beneath a peaceful sky. The sounds of goats and roosters and children playing complete this island scene. A bunch of coconuts hanging by the sea becomes a perch for two raucous macaws. As much a symbol of a tropical island as the palm tree, their brilliant plumage never ceases to amaze. Does Polly wanna cracker, or does Polly wanna coconut? In town, there’s a place at the water’s edge where people come to relax, have some fresh seafood and hear a local band. It’s open late, the price is right, and the view is great. Your table is waiting … It’s a little hard to get to because the roads are rough and unmarked, but well worth the effort. There’s not much there but this old pier and a lot of peace and quiet. Let the sounds of the rustling palm fronds soothe your soul as you relax into island time. Here’s life as it should be: slower and more relaxed. A place where you can leave the world behind an catch up with yourself and rediscover the simpler, more natural rhythms of life. No news, no shoes, no big city blues. A table by the sea for you and me. A place to enjoy some delicious island food and a tall cool drink, or to just relax at the beach. Let the wind and the waves take your cares away as you spend a long lazy afternoon under the thatch roof of Mañana Cabana. This is one of the hidden away places on the island. It’s out of the way and in a different world. There are no phones, computers or television. Yours to enjoy is the protected lagoon and open sea beyond. Leave your cares behind.

It is just an old weather beaten pier but it draws you in. It makes you just want to walk out to the end and look at the transparent turquoise water right to the bottom. Being protected inside the reef, you would see many multicolored tropical fish around the pilings.
